In a recent conversation with a newly promoted employee I was reminded again of an important aspect of effective leadership: the value of time and recognition.
Having completed a trial period as a new supervisor, the employee expressed disappointment—not in the size of his pay increase, but in the absence of feedback from his boss.
What he truly craved was acknowledgment of his efforts and appreciation for his contributions.
As managers, it’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of daily tasks and to-do lists, overlooking the vital need for genuine connection and recognition.
Yet, taking the time to notice and appreciate our team members’ efforts is the key to unlocking their motivation and improving business results.
Each member of our team plays a vital role in our collective success, and it’s essential to let them know that their contributions are noticed, valued, and appreciated ❤️.
So, I challenge you to pause and reflect: Who on your team could benefit from a little extra time and recognition today?
