We often find it easier to recognise other people’s accomplishments and achievements than our own.
But here’s the thing… it’s up to us to decide what we feel proud of. There are no rules about what qualifies as a success or an achievement. In fact it may be exactly those undefined which we feel most proud of.
Being proud of ourselves doesn’t mean we put ourselves on a pedestal above others. It means we recognise the value in things, such as our accomplishments or improvements and how we have overcome challenges and setbacks. It makes us feel better about ourselves.
If you feel stuck, or you can’t think of any personal traits or characteristics you are most proud of…
⭐️Think back to the things people have most praised you for.
⭐️What do your friends, family, colleagues, teachers and manager appreciate in you?
⭐️ What are some of the repeated traits and behaviours that you are praised for?
Be proud of yourself. It’s been a long journey of ups and downs, but somehow you’ve made it this far.
