It’s often said: “You’re the average of the five people you spend the most time with”.
It’s true. And it applies to everyone, not just the closest five people in our lives- friends, colleagues and associates.
The people we spend time with have a significant impact on our lives. They can influence our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours in both positive and negative ways.
Life can be challenging. We don’t always win and there will always be obstacles and naysayers on our path to success.
During these challenging moments, nothing feels better than having someone we can share our fears and doubts with. Friends, colleagues or peers, who listen and cheer us on, are invaluable.
The next time you’re feeling down and discouraged, have a closer look at who you are spending your time with and see if there is a connection.
Then, make a conscious effort to surround yourself with people who lift you up, consider your well-being and help you become a better version of yourself.
